For some collectors, the name of the game are those items that straddle
the line of legend and truth, myth and material. You can find almost any
game in pristine condition, if, at any time it was sold in the marketplace.
However, it is only the unfinished and unreleased games, the ludic mysteries
that may or may not even exist, that excite some of you maniacs out there!
Here are some picks for most intriguing legendary titles that may very well
be no more than fairy tales.
You can see a low res website, but this beauty that never was from
the early aughts was never released into the wild.
A sequel to the iconic Sam and Max Hit the Road, a
playable copy of even a single level of this game would be
the holy grail for a particular kind of PC Adventure Game collector.
Eventually the splintering of Lucasarts would allow for
the heart of the game to reemerge in the epic TellTale era
series, but there are still those that wonder what might have been
if Lucasarts had held out on Adventure Gaming beyond the slump.
A sandbox game ahead of it's time, this X-Box prototype put you
in the shoes (feet?) of a prehistoric human cohabitating with a lush
landscape full of dinosaurs. Remnants were recently shown to an audience
of video game preservationists… congrats, you can watch the YouTube video too, even check out the original web marketing.
What's that? Want to pick up a copy of the game for you and the kids?

a possible contemporary to Simpson's Hit and Run. Video footage of
some maps and gameplay has dropped on YouTube at this point, but no source code to
be found. Could this release (that the creators may not have even known
about at the time) have
cemented South Park's reputation as an amazing video game franchise
far earlier? We'll never know, but perhaps someday more will be

STATUS: MAY NO LONGER EXIST
While this game's box art and 2 screenshots
can be found floating around
the web, no ROM of this game has ever been seen/found. Weep for all
those Steve Guttenberg fans without a vessle through which to experience
life as their favorite human being. The closest thing the Gutenheads can
get to that is playing 2005's Law and Order Criminal Intent
according to Wikipedia Microsoft makes use of Steve's voice for the
immortal role of "unknown."
